So much for New Years resolutions! The one I made to all of you in September 2007 at the start of the new school year (update the RA page monthly) was not any more successful than those I make every January. Well....Happy 2008! I resolve...no more resolutions!

Looking back, our first Illustrator Master Class with Boyds Mills Press Art Director Tim Gillner was enthusiastically received and judged a success by all who attended.

Looking forward, plans for our June 7th Eastern NY Conference at the Best Western in Poughkeepsie have been finalized. A formal announcement with registration information will be posted on this Web site by mid-March. Our keynote speaker is Nancy Willard, award-winning author of more than fifty books for children and Lecturer in the English Department at Vassar College. We have a full complement of authors, illustrators, editors and agents with opportunity for lots of networking! Once again, we'll be offering a limited number of manuscript critiques and portfolio reviews. Please remember to reserve early; those coveted spots go quickly.

Fast-forwarding to November, plans for our first Masters Writers Retreat at Silver Bay, Lake George, under the aegis of ARA, Nancy Castaldo, is underway. Circle the 21st-23rd on your calendar, and check here for more information later in the year.
